A member of the Caretaker Committee of the All Progressive Congress, Ismal’il Ahmad, on Wednesday, said the party will constitute a committee on Thursday to evaluate reports across the country over the state congresses held over the weekend.
Isma’il Ahmad, who doubles as the National Youth Leader of the party, disclosed this on a radio programme, monitored by The Punch in Kano, explained that the party headquarters will deliberate on the matter before making a decision.
According to him, the representatives of the party from Abuja to monitor the congresses are yet to submit their reports.
Also, it should be recalled that two factional leaders emerged from the October 16 state congress of the party, with Abdullahi Abbas and Haruna Danzago, both claiming to be the duly elected chairmen.
Before the State Executive Council meeting, on Wednesday, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, claimed that the National Headquarters of the APC has recognized his anointed candidate, Abdullahi Abbas, as the duly elected State Chairman of the party.
The claim was contained in a press statement, issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar and made available to newsmen on Wednesday.
