The team behind the groundbreaking Batman Arkham games, Rocksteady and Warner Bros. has released a story trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League that shows the formation of Task Force X and explains why band of supervillains (Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot and King Shark) has to destroy some of Earth’s greatest heroes.
It’s been over a year since the Suicide Squad game was revealed and as it turns out, Brainiac has possessed the Justice League and is using heroes to wreak havoc. The Task Force is the first unit to make it into Metropolis alive, as X organizer Amanda Waller explains. It’s also clear that Harley and crew aren’t exactly eager volunteers, as their heads are “ticking.” Superman, Green Lantern and The Flash also get some attention in the trailer, and even The Penguin makes an unusual cameo appearance.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will embark on a mission to take down not just Brainiac, but evil versions of DC heroes like Superman too. The Squad will fight in across an open-world Metropolis that’s set in Rocksteady’s established “Arkham-verse.”
The new story trailer for Suicide Squad is set to be released in 2022 for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X versions.
