A member of Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle’ faction of the All Progressives Congress in Zamfara State, Bashiru Idris Ataka has swiftly reacted to a statement by Abdulmalik Zubairu Zannan Bungudu which accused the governor of not executing any capital projects worth over 10 million naira since his tenure.
Bashiru said the statement was laughable and should be thrown into the bin considering the level of infrastructural development executed by the Matatwalle allegedly running into billions of naira.
Recall that a statement by the former federal lawmaker, Abdulmalik Bungudu, on Friday had raised concerns that Matawalle cannot proudly identify a project worth over N10 million he executed in any of the fourteen local government areas of the state.
But Ataka explained that that the ongoing construction of Cargo -Airport in Gusau, the state capital, upgrading and renovation of government House, township roads as well as access roads in Gusau central market are all few among the numerous projects which run into billions of naira in Gusau Local Government Area alone.
Ataka said even Maru, a local government under the constituency of the former lawmaker had benefitted, explaining that the ongoing construction of Danmarke-Ruwan Dorawa and Kanoma road alone was worth billions of naira.
“There is no single Local Government Area in Zamfara where over a billion naira was not injected into capital projects initiated by the Governor Matawalle in the area of infrastructural development so the statement by Hon. Abdulmalik Bungudu politically out of points”
He said that conducting the ward congress by the Matawalle’s faction of the APC is the best way to show appreciation to the effort made by the Mai Mala Buni led APC caretaker committee to bring sanity to the APC in the state.
According to him, members of former Governor Abdulaziz Yari’s faction of the APC should come to their senses and respect the will of Allah by accepting Matawalle as the party leader and work towards uniting the party for the 2023 political race.
