The COVID-19 pandemic confronted the world with a radical change which has led to the global academic discussion about transitioning to online teaching in response to the pandemic. Swedish Ambassador to Nigeria, Carl Michael Grans, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nacabs Polytechnic, Akwanga, Nasarawa State, on digital migration education for the overall development of Nigeria.
The Ambassador, while signing the MoU in Akwanga during the 20th-year anniversary of the polytechnic, promised to keep to the terms of the agreement in the MoU.
He said that the importance of digital migration education to human and societal development could not be overemphasised.
The ambassador said, the future prospect of the polytechnic will definitely go higher than its counterparts within Nigeria and outside the country with the signing of the MoU.
According to him, the positive information he received about Nacabs Polytechnic motivated the Swedish Government through its embassy to enter into the agreement.
The ambassador thanked the Nasarawa state Government for availing them of all the opportunities to start an investment in the state.
He said that Swedish Government will apply all the needed mechanisms to keep the relationship intact for mutual trust and benefit of both countries.
In his remarks, Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State commended the Swedish government for the gesture.
Sule, who was represented by a member representing Akwanga South constituency at the state legislature, Samuel Tsebe urged the management of Nacabs Polytechnic to consider its institution lucky to be selected ahead of others in the state for the programme.
He described the Swedish investment programmes in the country as highly impressive and developmental.
The governor called on the benefiting institution to utilize the opportunity to enable them to key into digital means of processing education at all levels.
Earlier, the Proprietor of the Polytechnic, David Abuluya, appreciated the Swedish government for signing the MoU with the institution.

He described Polytechnic education as capital intensive while thanking God for sustaining the polytechnic in all its ramifications.
The proprietor described the governor’s zeal in the education sector as a good omen and called for its sustenance.
Abuluya added that Gov. Sule was a prominent stakeholder of the polytechnic before he became the governor of the state as he sponsored a good number of students in the school.
