Tunis/Tunisia — Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Moncef Boukthir stressed Tuesday at the closing ceremony of the 4th edition of the “Seeds for the Future” programme, and the Huawei Academy of Information and Communication Technologies, the ministry’s determination to update the legal framework to ensure a benefit from the initiatives and opportunities offered within the framework of the China-Africa Forum on Cooperation.
Boukthir indicated on this occasion the efforts exerted by Tunisia to become one of the most dynamic countries in the academic and scientific fields in Africa and in the Arab world.
He also praised the level of cooperation between Tunisia and China in the framework of the current exchange programme.
The ministry is currently working with the Chinese side to provide a high-performance computer for universities and research centres in Tunisia as part of the development aid presented by China, Boukthir added.
A partnership and cooperation agreement was renewed on this occasion between the Ministry of Higher Education and the Huawei company for the period from 2021 to 2024.
