The Egyptian Women’s national team has returned to the official FIFA ranking for the first time since May of 2018.
Egypt was dropped from the women’s national teams’ rankings in June of 2018, having failed to meet the necessary criteria to make it to the FIFA ranking.
FIFA’s ranking system requires every national team to play at least five matches against other ranked teams in the span of 18 months.
However, the Egyptian Women’s national team made it to the FIFA ranking again today as they returned to the list after more than three years of absence.
In today’s FIFA ranking, Egypt came in 96th place with 1225.34 total points, making them the 12th highest African team on the list.
Internationally, the United States of America kept its ranking lead with 2109.09 points, followed by Sweden who are thirty points behind.
Among the CAF national teams, Nigeria is the current first place with 1584.09 points, 141 points ahead of second-place Cameroon.
It’s worth mentioning that Egypt’s highest-ever FIFA ranking was back in 2005 when they placed 58th.
