The Egyptian national have maintained its place as the fourth Arab and sixth African team in the FIFA rankings for the month of December.
During the month of December, Egypt have competed in the FIFA Arab Cup that recently took place in Qatar.
The Pharaohs started their journey in the group stage with a narrow 1-0 victory over Lebanon before thrashing neighbours Sudan 5-0 and drawing with African champions Algeria 1-1.
Next, Egypt came face to face with Jordan in the quarter-finals, and the national team successfully claimed a 3-1 victory in the extra time.
In the semi-finals against Tunisia, a late own goal by Amr El-Sulya handed Egypt their first defeat and put them in a confrontation with hosts Qatar for the third-place finish.
The third-place decider was a close game as both teams failed to snatch a goal, and the penalty shoot-out put Qatar on top for Egypt to finish fourth.
After the tournament, with a record of three wins, one draw, and two defeats, Egypt remained in the same spot in the latest FIFA ranking.
Internationally, Egypt remain 45th with 1451.77 total points, while Belgium, Brazil, and France keep their lead on the table.
Among CAF teams, Egypt remain sixth as well, behind Senegal (20th overall), Morocco (28th overall), Algeria (29th overall), Tunisia (30th overall), and Nigeria (36th overall).
