Nigeria national team goalkeeper Maduka Okoye believes they have the quality to stop Mohamed Salah during Egypt clash in AFCON.
The Africa Cup of Nations is starting in days, with many nations competing for the prestigious title, including Egypt, Senegal, Nigeria, Algeria, and Morocco.
African giants Egypt and Nigeria were both drawn in the same group, facing each other in the opening group stage game in an early finale.
The tournament kicks off on the ninth of January, while the Group D clash between the Pharaohs and the Super Eagles takes place on the 11th of the same month.
While the Egyptian national team has multiple renowned stars among its ranks, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah remains the greatest danger to be dealt with when playing against Egypt.
Speaking on stopping Salah, Okoye said: “It’s ninety minutes we have to be fully focused and confident, we are not allowed to be scared.
“I think we have the quality to stop even players like this not to give us too much danger.”
