Egypt national team vice-captain Amr El-Sulya expressed his sadness for the Nigeria game defeat, promising improvement in the upcoming game.
The Egyptian national team stumbled over Nigeria hurdle in their opening Africa Cup of Nations game, suffering a 1-0 defeat.
The loss put Egypt in fourth and last place of Group D, with zero points, behind Nigeria, Guinea-Bissau, and Sudan.
Not only the result was disappointing, but the performance of The Pharaohs was also extremely poor as well, which left a lot of fans in doubt of the team’s capabilities.
In the second Group stage game, Egypt will be confronting Guinea-Bissau, and the match will be their chance to put on a good show and collect their first three points.

Ahead of the game, Amr El-Sulya, who had missed the Nigeria game due to injury, spoke about the players’ relationship with head coach Carlos Queiroz, while also sending a comforting message to the fans.
“The rumors about the players’ rebelling against Queiroz are nonsense, we know how valuable wearing the national team shirt is, we would never act in such behavior.
“We as players are isolating ourselves from social media, now we are just focused on making up for our opening game defeat.
“I understand how sad the fans are, because as players we are even more sad and hurt with the loss.
“Right now, we are fully determined on winning in order to make our fans happy.”
