Former Al Ahly and Zamalek striker, Felix Ahmed Aboagye, said that the Egypt national team puts too much pressure on Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah.
Egypt qualified to the round of 16 after finishing second in their group with six points, three behind group leaders Nigeria.
Despite winning against Guinea-Bissau and Sudan, the Pharaohs have been subject of a lot of criticism due to their unconvincing performances.
Egypt won 1-0 in both games, with Mohamed Salah scoring the winner against Guinea-Bissau and Mohamed Abdelmoneim against Sudan.
While Felix believes it’s too harsh to claim that Egypt is playing poorly, he says that they need to be more clinical in front of goal.
“Egypt didn’t perform badly, but winning by just one goal in each match is not enough,” he told Al-Oula TV.
“Everyone depends on Mohamed Salah to score goals, which puts a lot of pressure on the Liverpool player.
“I expect Cameroon or Nigeria to win the Africa Cup of Nations,” he added.
Felix then praisedAl Ahly and Zamalek for their dominance over the African continent and said that Pitso Mosimane is the best coach in the continent.
“Al-Ahly and Zamalek are the best in Africa, and it is natural for them to shine in the Champions League,” he continued.

“Al Ahly is an organized team and all their players are performing well, and Mosimane is the best coach in Africa at the moment,” concluded the former Ghana international.
