The Egyptian national has moved up 11 spots in the FIFA rankings after second-place finish in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
In the last FIFA rankings before the AFCON, The Pharaohs were 45th on the international ladder, as the sixth African nation.
However, the February rankings have seen major changes as the national team made incredible shows against other African giants.
During the AFCON knock-out stages, Egypt successfully overcame Ivory Coast, Morocco, and hosts Cameroon, who were all favorites to grab the title.
Even after finishing the run with a defeat against Senegal, Egypt climbed 11 spots to 34th place, returning to Africa’s top five.
The top five CAF area nations in order are AFCON winners Senegal (18th overall), Morocco (24th overall), Nigeria (32nd overall), Egypt (34th overall), and Tunisia (36th overall).
With 1497 points, Egypt are also second among Arab countries, only seven points ahead of Tunisia, with Morocco taking the lead with 1547 points.
In the world rankings, Belgium maintained the top spot ahead of Brazil, France, Argentina, and England.
