Alberta’s chief medical officer of health is asking Albertan’s to be respectful of other’s experiences as the province shifts to an endemic phase of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“As we move forward, it will be vital that we find a way to respect each other’s previous experiences, comfort levels and risk context– different as they may be from our own,” Hinshaw said during her COVID-19 update on Tuesday.
At the same update, Health Minister Jason Copping warned Albertans that COVID-19 had not gone away, but that the effects on the health-care system were improving.
There were 1,538 patients in hospital with COVID-19 in Alberta as of Tuesday, 123 of those patients in ICU.
The province also recorded 14 additional COVID-19 related deaths, bringing the total number of Alberta deaths since the start of the pandemic to 3,790.
