Ukraine’s military said on Tuesday the front-line town of Shchastya in the eastern Luhansk region was caught up in shelling by Russian-backed separatists.
According to the statement, separatists fired mortar launchers, anti-tank grenade launchers, machine guns and small arms.
Video showed the town’s residential area with a few people walking along the streets despite audible explosions.
In addition, the Ukrainian State Emergency Service in the Luhansk region said that a thermal power plant caught fire after the artillery shelling.
