The Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) is considering former Egypt head coach Hossam El-Badry for the national team coaching job.
After failing to reach the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and the final stages of the World Cup qualifiers, FERWAFA opted not to renew for national team head coach Vincent Mashami.
In his 24 games in charge, Mashami won just six games, while losing 10 and drawing the remaining eight.
The Amavubi aim to reach the 2023 AFCON finals, in what could be their first appearance since 2004 and are on the lookout for the right coach to guide them to Ivory Coast in the summer of 2023.
The FERWAFA have released a list of 10 managers they are actively negotiating with to potentially fill in the vacant role.
The list includes former Mali, Tunisia, and Senegal coach Alain Giresse, former Borussia Dortmund and Nigeria midfielder Sunday Oliseh, and current Lebanon national team head coach Ivan Hasek.
El-Badry, who was sacked last September by Egypt for the team’s poor performances, was also present on the list.
The Egyptian is by far the most experienced one of the bunch when it comes to coaching in Africa.

El-Badry also had brief stints with Al Ahli Tripoli of Libya, ENPPI, and Sudan’s Al-Merrikh where he won the league title in 2011.
