Spanish manager Carlos Alos has been appointed as Rwanda national team head coach, amid negotiations with Egyptian coach Hossam El-Badry.
The Rwanda FA (FERWAFA) had put El-Badry on a 10-man shortlist they were in negotiation with to takeover the vacant managerial job.
The list also included the likes of former Nigeria midfielder Sunday Oliseh, and current Lebanon national team head coach Ivan Hasek.
However, none of the coaches on the above-mentioned list were appointed by FERWAFA as they opted for Carlos Alos.
The 46-year-old coached several clubs in Africa and the MENA region in the past few years, having led FAR Rabat of Morocco and Qatar SC.
His latest managerial role was with Cypriot side Enosis Neon Paralimni during the 2020-2021 season.
Alos’ only trophy as a manager came in 2017 when he led FC Kairat to the Kazakhstan Cup.
