The major snowstorm bearing down on Manitoba finally hit on Wednesday, blanketing the streets, buildings and people with snow expected through much of the week.
Winnipeg is seeing some of the storm’s full force and while it is a winter city and well-equipped to deal with snow — even in April — the sheer amount of it set to hit the province by Friday will put everyone to the test.
As Heather Yourex-West reports, it’s a test that no one wanted, with some parts of Manitoba expecting to see a range of 30 to 40 cm for Winnipeg and even 40 to 60 cm for the western Red River Valley.
