With public health restrictions vanishing, the federal government plans to end pandemic financial supports for businesses in May.
Some owners of small businesses are still struggling, and they’re not finding comfort in the 2022 federal budget. The Canadian Federation of Independent Business says only 40 per cent of small businesses see pre-pandemic revenue levels.
They were calling for more loan forgiveness and help from the government, and are not giving Ottawa’s latest budget high marks. Abigail Bimman has more.
