Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to any political appointee seeking to contest elective positions in 2023.
In a three paragraphs statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar, Ganduje ordered that those such appointees should leave on or before Monday 18th, April, 2022.
According to him, ” all political appointees running for elective offices in the forthcoming 2023 general elections are to resign from their respective positions.
“They are given between now to Monday 18th April, 2022, to resign. The directive is pursuance and or, compliance to section 84 (12) of the newly amended Electoral Act,” Anwar said in the statement.
