One year after the revelation of unmarked graves at the former Kamloops Indigenous Residential School in British Columbia, the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation is preparing to exhume the hundreds of remains found at the facility.
The decision to do so, led by a 13-member grassroots committee including former chiefs, councillors and elders, comes just days after the community marked the anniversary of the confirmation of the unmarked graves.
