At least three people have been killed and 60 people were injured after a train derailed in southern Germany on Friday, according to police and local officials.
A police spokesperson said the Munich-bound train had been quite full at the time of the crash north of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, a ski resort in Bavaria that is also popular with hikers in the summer.
Police said a major emergency services operation was still underway and the rail line was completely closed as of Friday afternoon. According to officials, there were 16 severely injured.
